I will be photographing doggies in the indoor pool at The Wagsworth Pet Manor Saturday
March 6-7 from 9-12 and 2-5pm in Malvern, PA. Sessions are 15 minutes long and include online hosting of your images for 7 days and a matted 8×10 of my favorite image. Sessions are $100.
I will also be signing books from 9-5 on Saturday.

Cadence + Crocker | Beautimus Boxers

January 13th, 2010

It was such a treat to play with these two vivacious pups! Cadence is 10 years old and LOVED running and playing and she told us when she was ready to go to sleep, she jumped on the back of the car and waited for someone to open it up for her, laid down and looked at me like, excuse me, this is over. Now. It was so cute, she reminds me of my boxer, Weezy. Sweet and Sassy.

Book Signing and Class at Charlotte Secondary School

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to Charlotte Secondary School for a book signing at their book fair to talk to each grade level, 6-8. I talked about my book and about how they can follow their passion. I wanted them to know that they can do anything they put their minds to! That careers can be born out of hobbies and they can wake up each morning super excited about their jobs!

The last hour of the school day, I took 14 students outside for a photography lesson. Each child had the opportunity to write why they wanted to be chosen and me and a panel of teachers chose the students based on their reasons. One was chosen because he wanted to learn my mistakes, I thought that was a very forward thinking and thoughtful answer.

We took a dog, Lexi, outside and I showed them how to make creative portraits using different angles and lighting conditions. Here are a few images from our shoot.

Charlotte Secondary School hosts photographer/author Brooke Mayo as she presents her new book “Diving Doggies: A Celebration of Underwater Play”

November 21st, 2009

I will be speaking at Charlotte Secondary School on Friday, November 20th in Charlotte, NC. We will have a book signing at the book fair from 8-10am and then I will be talking to each grade individually about my book and following their passion.
At the end of the day, I will be teaching 12 students about photography. We will have a doggie model and go outside and learn how to use light and composition to make an interesting portrait.
